Cork, Ireland's second largest city, lies where the River Lee flows into the Celtic Sea. It is the largest city in the province of Munster. The name Cork comes from the Irish Corcach Mor Mumhan, meaning the Great Marsh of Munster. The city centre sits on an island encircled by the channels of the river. Cork is known for the historic Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral.
